ShobinZ Lab is the engineering research arm of JMS Research Technology, with a hardware lab at Pulpally, Wayanad in Kerala and an office in Hounslow, London. We design, build and test research-grade instruments, and we publish the datasets that come out of them.

The lab was founded by Shobin John, a PhD candidate at Cranfield University, and brings together electronics, control systems, embedded AI and FPGA work under one roof.

Formed with quantum computing in mind. ShobinZ Lab was founded with quantum computing as its inspiration. While we build classical engineering systems today, every product — from linear actuator health monitoring to our FPGA control pipelines — is designed to be compatible with, and directly and indirectly supports, the quantum computing research frontier. Our FPGA platforms are the testbed for quantum-classical hybrid algorithms and our sensor datasets underpin quantum ML research. If you want to be part of this community, contact us.
